The Swindon Flames were well represented in this year’s Regional Tournaments held at the Midland Roller Arena.

There were seven players from the club representing the SASH (Southern Region) across the three age groups.

The most successful age group was the Youths who won their competition with Liam Coleman and Harry Gobey representing the Swindon club.

Liam Coleman captained the side and he netted five goals in the 7-1 win over the South East Region.

Coleman was also selected for the Youth dream team.

Joseph Llewellyn captained the SASH Pee Wee’s and they went unbeaten until they lost out to the London/East region.

The Juniors fielded four members of the Swindon Junior team with Jake Silvester, Haydn Lee, Dylan Bonner and Will Harding all forming part of the SASH squad.

In a competitive group the Juniors did not really get going until their final game when they comfortably overcame the South East team 5-2 to take third place.

Swindon Flames Pee Wee under 12s team brought their 2014 season to a close with a loss and a win at Spiceball Leisure Centre in Banbury.

The two games proved a contrast as against an experienced Ash Avalanche Rage side the young Flames team struggled and went down 10-1 with captain Llewellyn scoring his sides consolation goal.

Against another young and inexperienced side in Banbury Bulldogs, Llewellyn soon put his side into the lead which was gradually extended.

Although Banbury were able to pull a couple of goals back, the young Swindon team eventually ran out comfortable 12-4 winners, with Llewellyn scoring nine goals Harvey Clark (2) and Jamie Baxter also getting on the score-sheet.

The results look likely to see the Swindon side finish in fourth place in the SASH table which represents a positive return to league action as the first Swindon Pee Wee team since 2010.

Llewellyn was selected to represent SASH in the regional tournament and finished among the leading goal-scorers with 39 goals.

The team has relied on a small group of players throughout the season and are actively seeking to recruit further players for 2015.
