A YOUNG racer is hoping to make his mark in stock car racing but is looking for support after a suffering a difficult season behind the wheel.

Brett Constable was introduced to short oval racing at a young age by his dad and took to the track for the first time as a 14-year-old.

The 24-year-old, from Cricklade, bought his first stock car, but after spending the majority of the 2010 season running in the top two positions in the championship but with five meetings to go suffered a broken wrist in a crash.

After a year out, Constable made a switch to BriSCA F2 in 2012, but he only managed to complete nine meetings after blowing his engine.

During the winter of 2013 Constable fully rebuilt the car up to meet the new rules and regulations and went on to compete at 18 meetings which brought him several top three finishes including another win as well as a second place finish in a championship final.

Last season started well for the young driver, seeing him hit his highest ever position in the points chart placing him comfortably within the top 50 in the national table, but his cazmpaign soon collapsed around him.

Now Constable is hoping to make a return behind the wheel next season but will need the support of a sponsor.

“As the season went on my luck seemed to disintegrate dramatically with engines letting go on me and other things just not going to plan,” said Constable.

“I also had two major accidents with the second at the end of August destroying my car.

“Any sponsorship would be used to pay for race tyres and repairs. I currently race from my own pocket and I believe I have the potential to do better if the funds were there.”
