SWINDON returned to winning ways with an 8-0 demolishing of City of Bath.

After losing their last two matches, Swindon were fired up and immediately took the lead after three minutes with Rachel King opening the scoring.

Hannah Lewis then scored her first goal from close range after Swindon stole possession from Bath to close the first half 2-0 ahead.

From the start of the second half, Swindon stamped their authority on the game when Shona O'Dwyer rocketed a reverse stick shot into the net.

Lewis followed O'Dwyers goal with a neat deflection and the Swindon skipper Vicky Stokes scored her first rebounding well from a short corner taking the score to 5-0 with 30 minutes left to play.

The goal of the day secured Lewis her hat-trick after some excellent build up play through midfield and a pass from Stokes was calmly deflected past the oncoming Bath goalkeeper to make the score 6-0.

As Bath lost heart, Swindon scored with Linda Brouwers smashing home a short corner before, player of the match, Lewis scored her forth and Swindon's eighth to seal a resounding victory.

After the game Lewis said: “I'm really happy for the team today - we set out with a pressing game plan and it totally worked for us.”
