WANBOROUGH wheelchair tennis ace Louise Hunt helped herself to another title as she triumphed in the final of the women’s doubles competition at the Czech Open on Saturday.

Hunt and her German partner Katharina Kruger justified their billing as top seeds for the event as they turned in a classy performance to beat Russian seconds seeds Ludmila Bubnova and Viktoriia Lvova 6-1, 6-3 in the final in Prostejov.

Earlier in the day, Hunt narrowly missed out on securing her second singles title in successive weeks as she was narrowly edged out by Dutch second seed and defending champion Michaela Spaanstra 6-4 3-6, 6-3 in an evenly-matched singles final.

London 2012 paralympian Hunt was delighted with her efforts in the Czech Republic and posted on Twitter: “Finished up here at Czech Open, winner of the doubles and runner-up in the singles. Good couple of weeks of tour, can’t wait to go home tomorrow.”

The performance marks a strong few weeks on the continent for Hunt.

The British number three is currently enjoying career-best rankings in singles and doubles after the biggest singles win of her career in the final the Polish Open, while back in May, Hunt helped the Great Britain team claim a bronze medal at the World Team Cup in Turkey.
