FAIRFORD netball club’s A team took on Pinehurst C in Division Two of the Swindon & District League last weekend.

A strong performance from the defence saw them win the match 50-21, Chloe New, at goalkeeper, being awarded player of the match.

Fairford C secured only their second win of the season against Pinehurst E in Division Five, winning 31-13, but Fairford B lost to Jets A in Division Three 32-27.

Lawn Netball Club won four of their five Swindon & District matches, the A, C and D teams winning their matches against Raychem B, Moredon C and Ferndale respectively.

Lawn C continued their undefeated run, with success over Moredon taking them top of Division Three.

Lawn E took on the young Abbey Meads E squad, winning 49-20 with goal attack Cerys Heath the player of the match.

Lawn B also took on Abbey Meads A, losing 43-25 to the undefeated leaders.

Wootton Bassett A continued their dominance of Division Four and are now eight points clear at the top of the table after beating Raychem E 35-17.

Bassett B had a tougher game against Purton, going down 41-35.

Raychem F beat Marlborough in Division Five, winning 50-31, centre Charlotte Humphries given Raychem’s player of the match award.

Raychem D had a convincing win in Division Three against Nationwide C, played outside the Dorcan Dome.

The poor weather dominated the style of play, Raychem winning 23-11, with Nationwide goalkeeper Allison McKie and Raychem goal attack Naomi Keene the players of the match.

In Division One, Nationwide A, with goalkeeper Tracey Brant returning from an ankle injury defeated Pinehurst A 40-36, with Sue Phillimore the player of the match.

Raychem lost out in Regional League One to Carol Anne Netball Club, 31-30.
