WILTSHIRE County Pool Association have held their end-of-season AGM, presentation night and Open Knockout competition.
Jason Godbeer was honoured with two prizes after being named both the men’s A and seniors player of the year. Darren Jordan won the men’s B award, with Cath Bailey the ladies player of the year.
Wiltshire have enjoyed a successful season, with the men’s A and seniors’ teams both reaching the national finals in early March next year.
As well as this, Wiltshire have succeeded in gaining England trials for five of its players. Godbeer, Craig Bailey and Alan Leng have all qualified for men’s trials, with Bailey securing a ladies trial. Current England seniors player Nigel Olding has earned a re-trial.
The Wiltshire Open Knockout event was held after the presentation and saw Darren Begley crowned the winner, with Paul Blazier the runner-up. Godbeer and Dennis Hearne were losing semi-finalists.
