RAYCHEM picked up their second victory in Regional League One as they secured a 44-37 success over bottom side Carol Anne.

Having been edged out by a point in the Swindon fixture earlier in the season, Raychem knew they faced a tough assignment against the side just below them, the Barnstaple hosts jumping out to a 14-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Good circle feeding from Dawn Greenberg and accurate shooting from Nikki Lawrence and Sarah Angell helped Raychem in the second quarter and with the defence unit of Hayley Lawrence, Holly King and Tracy Watt shutting down the hosts’ attack, the visitors led 24-19.

Introducing Claire Baverstock at goalkeeper, Raychem increased their lead to 35-28 by the end of the third period.

And despite seeing the gap closed to four at one stage, player of the match Lawrence helped them wrap up victory.
