SWINDON Flames are hoping to be too hot to handle when the new BISHA South League season begins this weekend.

The Flames’ youth team went unbeaten throughout their entire 2015 campaign, winning both the BISHA South League title and the National Championships at Midlands Roller Arena at Lutterworth, in Leicestershire.

As national champions, they have been selected to compete in the 2016 U16 European Cup held in Delemont, Switzerland.

All the players and their parents will have to pay their own costs for travel and accommodation, and the club will have to try and acquire two new full sets of playing kit as their current shirts are not compliant with the strictly enforced European regulations.

In order to try and reduce the financial burden on players and parents, the Flames have initiated a crowdfunding campaign to try and raise money towards the cost of kit, travel and accommodation for all involved.

Anyone wishing to assist the campaign can find full details at wasp.podiumpartners.org/campaign/60-swindon-skater-hockey-club-youth-team-european-championships-2016.

Anyone wishing to sponsor the team or club can email info@swindonflames.com or call 07918 832140.

The Flames run teams at all age groups, which are open to players of all ages and abilities, and are always looking for new members.
