WIMBLEDON-BOUND Louise Hunt has been handed a tough draw in her opening match at SW19 as she will face world number five Marjolien Buis in the quarter-finals today.

The 28-year-old from the Netherlands could prove to be a fierce opponent for Hunt as so far this year she has won the French Open and reached the semi final of the Australian Open Wanborough’s Hunt has also been drawn on the same side as the world number one Jiske Griffioen, which means she would need to overcome her too if she were to reach the final.

This is the first time there will be a singles competition for wheelchair players at Wimbledon.

Hunt’s last tournament event was just under a month ago when she completed her three-week tour of Asia.

While in Asia, the 25-year-old was in action for Great Britain at the World Team Cup in Japan and she also managed to clinch the ITF1 Daegu Open with her American partner Dana Mathewson.

She also took part in the ITF1 Series event final at the Korea Open before losing 7-6, 7-6 to world number seven Diede De Groot.

The 25-year-old wildcard has also been selected to represent Team GB at the Paralympic Games at Rio later in the year.

Hunt has played at Wimbledon before, but that was in the doubles competition, this year she’ll be playing in both singles and doubles, the latter starting at the semi-final stage.
