LOUISE Hunt has been knocked out of the ladies’ wheelchair singles competition at Wimbledon after being beaten in the quarter-finals this afternoon.

Wanborough’s Hunt fell to a 6-2, 6-0 defeat to Dutchwoman Marjolein Buis, who is the reigning French Open champion.

Wheelchair singles competitions have been introduced at Wimbledon for the first time this year, with London 2012 Paralympian Hunt receiving a wildcard into the ladies’ draw.

Hunt will be back on court at SW19 tomorrow alongside world number five Buis, with the duo teaming up in the ladies’ wheelchair doubles.

They will take on top seeds and defending champions Jordanne Whiley, of Great Britain, and Japan’s Yui Kamiji in the semi-finals.

The matches kick-off a big summer for 25-year-old Hunt, who has also been selected to compete at the Rio Paralympics in September.
