YOUNG tennis ace Jessica Doerr came away from the Wiltshire LTA Junior County Championships with more than most as she bagged herself a triplet of titles.

A total of 93 players from all over Wiltshire participated in the tournament, which took place at Salisbury Tennis Club.

Doerr, from Swindon, claimed a hat-trick of titles including the U16 and U18 singles title, in addition to the U14 doubles crown with her partner Harriett Eyles, from Ramsbury.

Doerr wasn’t the only player to claim more than one title as Ellen Jones and Ed Opie, of Chippenham, both won their respective girls and boys U14 singles titles before teaming up together to claim the U14 mixed doubles title.

Chippenham’s Yusuke Tamaki came out on top in the U16 and the U18 doubles events alongside partner George Nixon after moving to the area from Japan earlier in the year.

Swindon’s Anthony Long John won the U8 boys event for the third year running, as well as winning the U9 title.

Roger Henry, Wiltshire Tennis chairman, said: “There were many high quality finals played in a great spirit and based on the standards shown in all age groups the future of Wiltshire tennis is in good shape.”
