SWINDON Shock will hope that lightning does strike twice as they prepare to face the Woking Blackhawks for the second time this season.

Shock, who currently have a perfect record in the National League South West Division Four, have already beaten the Blackhawks this season.

That game ended in a nine point win for Swindon Shock as they started their season with a win in the National Cup.

Since then, the New College based side have won all three of their regular season games and sit second in the league, level on points with RCT Gladiators.

Despite their success in the league, shock have now been knocked out of both the National Cup and the National Shield, but player coach David Colclough believes that could be an advantage for his team.

“It means we don’t have any more double headers so we can now focus on our league and focus on winning that,” said the Shock chief.

“They (Woking Blackhawks) had some good size and athleticism, but when we played them in our first game we hadn’t gelled.

“We didn’t even take our top team in with us so I’m expecting to really throw some kinks into their game.

“I think they are a good side, they have always given us a run but I am expecting to win and quite comfortably too if I am being honest.”

Colclough also thinks the versatility of his players will stand them in good stead for the rest of the regular season.

“It looks like we have everybody on board, everyone is back so we are all making that trip on Saturday and we’ll come back with a win," he added.

“We really have like for like in pretty much every position, so we can swap two in and swap two out and we don’t really lose anything.

“We have two big players inside the key, but they’re strange because they can play as guards as well so they present challenges to other teams because they’re so versatile.

“So we play with two of them down low but they can also pop out and shoot, which really throws opposition teams off.”
