SWINDON crashed to their first defeat of the GoCrea8 League Conference North as visiting leaders Robinsons A grabbed a 3-2 win.

Looking to extend their run of recent good form, Swindon were pegged back right from the start, with the Bristol team pinning them inside their own half for the first 10 minutes.

Only strong defending led by Tom Hunt saw the home side stop the onslaught. Despite a couple of chances at the other end, it was the visitors who grabbed the opening goal after breaking through from midfield and easily beat Alan Gough in the Swindon goal.

Swindon made the most of the final minutes of the half scoring two superb replies, both coming from instrumental play from Luke Cejer down the left.

He found Henry Cheney in the area to slam the ball home for the equaliser, followed minutes later by Jordan McKenzie striking through the keeper’s legs to put the hosts ahead at the break.

The second half saw Swindon come under sustained pressure again from the start, but they managed to weather the storm until two penalty corner goals midway through the half changed the course of the contest.

The home side failed to convert chances and penalty corners as Robinsons made off with the points.

Swindon host Swansea on Saturday at Isambard School (12.30pm).
