SWINDON bounced back from their first defeat of GoCrea8 League Conference North season by dismissing Swansea 2-0 on Saturday.

The home side, who had surrendered their unbeaten start with a 3-2 home defeat by Robinsons A the previous week, took the lead midway through the first half thanks to a run from Jordan McKenzie who found Lewis Dyer in the area to shoot under the diving goalkeeper.

Swindon were denied a second as the half-time whistle went as Thomas Lentschner shot in to the corner following a run from defence by Tom Wickens.

The second period saw Swindon settle any nerves about the outcome as midfielder Dyer cut in from wide and let fly with an unstoppable reverse-stick shot.

Wootton Bassett followed by their first win of the season at Taunton Vale B by wrapping up a 3-0 success against Firebrands in Central One.

Bassett made the breakthrough in the 15th minute as possession was neatly passed to Jake Nunns who swiftly fired the ball towards the left post, where Matt Daniell deflected it past the keeper to give his side the lead.

The advantage was extended in the 38th minute, as Daniell combined well with Nunns, the latter shooting from the top of the D, low into the corner.

Victory was secured as Mark Turner hit the ball first time on his reverse side into the net for the third.

SWINDON Ladies slipped to their second West Clubs League Premier Division One home defeat of the season as Team Bath Buccaneers earned a 2-1 win.

A high-tempo first half saw Swindon create the best chance, when Lindsey Wall’s effort hit a Bath foot to earn a penalty stroke.

However midfielder Linda Brouwers saw her efforts saved by former Swindon keeper Kelly Hillier-Bowden.

The second half saw a deflected shot give Swindon keeper Sarah Anstey no chance and Team Bath took the lead and, as they pressed the Swindon defence regularly, a second goal followed.

Swindon immediately responded when a clever move from Brouwers found Gemma Scrase free on the right.

Although her first shot was saved, she flicked the rebound into the net, but Swindon were unable to get back on terms.
