THE Cirencester Off-Road Duathlon takes place this weekend.
The event, which is held at Lord Bathurst’s Estate, Cirencester Park, will involve a two-mile cross-country run followed by a 10-mile mountain bike ride before ending with another two-mile cross-country run.
The two-lap run course is fairly flat, through a winding, wooded trail, and is followed by a two-lap mountain bike course which is a real mix of grass, flat gravel track, undulating wooded trails, some mud and a short climb at the end of each lap.
There will be specialised prizes in the event for the top-five men and top-three women, plus over-40s, 50s, 60s and relay prizes.
There is also a novice event aimed at people who just like to keep fit, a youth section for 14 to 16-year-olds and a relay event.
