SWINDON Shock player-coach David Colclough says his troops feel revitalised after recording back-to-back wins last week.

Firstly, they ruthlessly swept past Oxford Brooks University 122-55, with Antonio Wilburn putting up 33 points and Alistair Tilney 18, on Thursday night.

Two days later, they were back at it as they picked up a 90-70 win away to Cardiff City in their penultimate game of the season.

After the victories, Shock have eased their relegation concerns in National League Division Three South as they now sit six points clear of bottom-of-the-table Southwark Pride.

Shock are also in line for a bye in their game with Southwark as after their initial game was called off and despite Colclough’s attempts, they have been unable to reschedule the tie.

“I spoke to England Basketball explaining that Pride had cancelled without 24 hours’ notice. We couldn’t agree to reschedule, and they never got back to me,” said Colclough.

“Technically, our season finishes on Saturday after the Cardiff Met Archers game, so it is going to the competitions panel and they’ll make the decision.

“Oxford were missing their main player and they just aren’t the same. A lot of the players have stepped away and taken the rest of the season off.

“Cardiff didn’t show us any respect. They turned up 15 minutes before tip-off and we’d been there for an hour before. We just turned around and went straight down their throat.”

Swindon now travel to Cardiff in their final game of the season.
