ELLIOT Pinson clinched three race wins and a second place at round two of the TeamGreen Junior Cup 2018 at Silverstone International Circuit.

The Swindon youngster set a new lap record beating the previous one by 0.3 seconds and was awarded the Kawasaki TGJC rider of the day prize, extending his lead to 53 points in the championship.

After a solid test day, re-familiarising himself with a circuit he had not visited for almost two years, Pinson clocked a fastest lap of 1:21:259, placing him the at the head of the combined grid with the Senior 300 class.

However, a poor race one start saw him drop places, before he regained second spot by the end of the opening lap.

By lap three he had passed the leading Senior 300 rider and steadily increased the margin, winning the combined race by 5.865 seconds and set the

fastest lap of 1:20.778.

Starting at the head of affairs for race two, he again dropped places at the start but was back in front by lap two and took a combined grid race win by 5.573 seconds, again setting the fastest lap of the race of 1:20.344s to regain the lap record he had set in 2016.

In his opening day two race Pinson's choice of wet front tyre but dry rear one proved the wrong one, but he still managed to take the TGJC class

race win by just 0.081 seconds.

Starting a wet race two in seventh, after four laps the race was red-flagged and restarted as a five-lap sprint, Pinson reaching second spot before a misting visor forced him to remain there.

The next round of the series is at Cadwell Park on April 28-29.
