Wiltshire bounced back from their hammering in Devon to produce a storming finish and thump Gloucestershire in their final Middleton Cup group match at Chippenham Town, writes DAVE EATON.
But despite achieving a 53-shot victory and 20 points in the 148-95 win it is reigning champions Devon who progress to the quarter finals of the inter-county championships.
The first half of the match against Gloucestershire was tight, before a much-changed Wiltshire produced a massive surge to sink the opposition - from only two shots up with a total of 28 ends left they stormed to a 53 shots victory taking the honours on five of the six rinks.
Mark Dyer’s rink were 15-3 up at 10 ends and always in control.
The Graham Shadwell rink were 10-17 down at 17 ends but finished 4, 0, 7 and 1 to win by four shots while Mike Jackson’s foursome were tied 17-17 but finished 4, 6, 4, 2.
Neil Smith’s rink won their last six ends while Russell Francis was 10-11 down at 14 ends but won six of the last seven ends.

Rink 1: Michael Richards, Jamie Titcombe, Mel Biggs and Mark Dyer (all Westlecot) beat Steve Wiltshire 27-10.
Rink 2: Tony Keating (Spencer Moulton), Keith Hutchens (Chippenham Park), Neil Connor (Chippenham Town) and Graham Shadwell (SM) beat Alan Taylor 22-18.
Rink 3: Tom Walkley, John Williamson, Ian Williams and Steve Snell (all Wootton Bassett) lost to Mike Woodbridge 14-24.
Rink 4: Nick Revell (Alderbury), Mike Snell (WB), Ian Jefferies and Mike Jackson (both W’lecot) beat Nigel Cansdale 33-17.
Rink 5: Wayne Simmonds (Holt), Chris Cheesley (WB), Ben Gadd (Holt) and Neil Smith (WB) beat Tom Griffiths 29-14.
Rink 6: Wayne Snook (Holt), Barry Sictorness, Dave Snell (both WB) and Russell Francis (SM) beat Paul Bryant 23-12.
Overall score: Wiltshire beat Gloucestershire 148-95 and by 20 points to 2.
