Alan King’s Triumph Hurdle favourite Mille Chief has been ruled out of the race.

The punters’ choice was pulled out of last Saturday’s Adonis Hurdle after being found lame, and the trainer stated that the Cheltenham race would come too soon for his charge King insisted that, all being well, he will make a return at Aintree or Punchestown early in April.

King was reported as saying: “ There’s no doubt in my mind he’ll come right, but not sadly in time for the third week in March.

“You can’t rush horses, he’s still only a four year old with potentially a big future, so we have got accept this and move on.”
