KICK BOXING: Medal haul for Embling

RYAN Embling warmed up for next weekend's European Cup with a strong showing at his latest kickboxing event in Bristol.
The Toothill Primary school pupil was fighting in the under 4ft 6in points category, in which he won an individual gold and a team silver.
Ryan, who is hoping to compete at the WUMA World Championships in Greece in November, is still collecting sponsorship money to help finance his trip.
He has received more than £1,300 in donations so far, with Wroughton-based pharmacy Jephson the latest to make a pledge of £150.
Next weekend Ryan will go head-to-head against some of the top fighters on the continent when he competes in the European Cup, at the Perdiswell Leisure Centre in Worcester.

Having traced one line of his ancestry to great-great-great grandmother, Catherine Smith, born into slavery in 1831, he then discovered a shocking piece of evidence. A different branch of his family tree led to great-great-grandfather James Gordon Harriott, white man and slave owner.
