DAVE Clarke claimed the Cirencester seniors June medal and championship.

The champion finished the competition with a gross score of 79 to edge out last year’s winner David Jones who shot a gross 80.

Clark’s route to victory showed 10 pars on his card and only one double bogey.

Jones was left ruing a missed 12 inch putt which may have seen him retain this coveted trophy.

John Thurston won division one of the competition with a nett score of 69 on countback from Tony Jafrate and Clark who both had nett 69s.

Performance of the day must go to octogenarian vet Tony Lester who in division two scored a nett 68.

Lester put together this score with a set of new clubs after his old set were stolen from his car recently. Patrick Hickey was second with a net 69 and David Purkiss third with a nett 72 in Division Two.
