SWINDON youngsters took part in a recent Get into Golf programme run by Swindon Premier Golf Academy.
Head coach and PGA professional Lee Hayward helped run the programme, taking golf into schools in the town.
The academy visited seven schools and taught more than 500 pupils with each school, along with the coach, getting to pick 10 pupils for a big Skills Festival at Highworth Golf Centre.
The children challenged themselves in all areas of the game, from putting to playing a hole, playing for the coveted Swindon Schools Festival Trophy, which was won by Oakhurst last year.
Schools taking part in the programme were St Mary’s, St Catherine’s, Oakhurst, Shaw Ridge, Wroughton, Lawn and Holycross.
Hayward said: “The pupils in all schools have been a pleasure to coach and have shown great enthusiasm to learn, they are all a credit to their schools and a big thanks to the teachers.’’
