DAVID Howell will be looking to repeat last year’s top ten finish when he tees off at the Nordea Masters in Malmö, Sweden this afternoon.

The Broome Manor pro enjoyed a successful four days in Sweden a year ago as he carded a 67 and 66 on Saturday and Sunday respectively to finish 12 under par for the tournament.

Having missed the cut in his last two events, including the PGA Championship at Wentworth, Howell will be looking to find his early season form which has seen him land three top two finishes.

The 39-year-old looked off form last week as a first round 77 at Royal County Down Golf Club in Northern Ireland put him on the back foot.

Howell needed an exceptional performance on Friday to give him a chance of making the weekend but a level par round left him short of the mark as he finished six over par.

Howell will be looking to put that behind him when he begins his round at the PGA Sweden National at 1.10pm alongside Sam Walker and Jonas Blixt, a group after home favourite Thomas Bjørn, who will be going for his first Swedish title.
