WILTSHIRE slipped to defeat in their opening Inter-County Team Championship match against Somerset at South West Week today.
Wiltshire were defeated 9-3 at the Bristol & Clifton Golf Club in the first of five matches against their regional rivals.
The damage was done in the morning singles, as Wiltshire registered only two wins, for North Wilts' Jack Charman (North Wilts) and newly-crowned Wiltshire Boys champion Jamie Amor (Marlborough).
They fared little better in the afternoon foursomes, Charman and Bowood's Luke Gorman achieving the only success in four encounters.
The individual South West Championship as well as the English county qualifier will also take place at the Bristol & Clifton club this week, with South West Week concluding on
