WILTSHIRE slipped to a third narrow Inter-Counties Matchplay Championship defeat at South West Week as they were edged out by Cornwall yesterday.
The morning singles at the Bristol & Clifton Golf Club were shared 4-4, with Wiltshire's top four of Garry Slade and Luke Gorman (both Bowood), Jack Charman (North Wilts) and Tom Law (Broome Manor) all winning.
However, Marlborough's Jamie Amor and Dom Baverstock-Seaman were the only foursomes winners in the afternoon, vice-captain Ali James and Slade halving their match as Wiltshire lost out overall 7.75-6.25.
Wiltshire were seeking their first win of the event against Dorset in their final match today.
