TOM Law held court at Broome Manor as he took the club championship by 15 shots.

The 18-year-old joins a prestigious list of players to lift the title following his victory last weekend.

Law carded rounds of 65 and 67, to finish 10 under par ahead of Miles Mackman to put his name onto a trophy twice won by Swindon’s two-time Ryder Cup star David Howell.

A six-under par opening round gave Law a commanding nine-shot lead from his nearest challenger Scott Ward at the halfway stage.

Law then followed that up with a four-under par round to finish ahead of previous winner Mackman, who finished on five over par, with Wesley Rawlings in third two further shots back.

Law also won the nett competition by seven shots, from Bill Stretton in second and Freddie Titcombe in third.

On Sunday, June 28, Broome Manor held the Tigers Club Championship as 30 players, aged 13 and under, battled it out for the prestigious claret jug trophy.

The Tigers (short course) was won by Charlie Hampson, who carded rounds of 41 and 38, while the Super Tigers (full course) was won by nine-year-old Lewy Hayward by 11 shots with rounds of 37 and 38.

Meanwhile, Olivia Bannon was crowned the first ever girls’ club champion with rounds of 49 and 46.

“This truly was another successful day for junior golf at Broome Manor,” said PGA golf pro Lee Hayward.

“The junior section is growing so fast and starting to produce some encouraging young talent.

“I am very proud of the work that we are doing and am really starting to see the benefits of our coaching programme.

“Just to see so many happy faces out on the course is a true delight, I also have to say that I am very proud of my boy who played some amazing golf out there on Sunday and truly deserves to call himself the club champion.”
