DAVID Howell is facing an agonising wait to discover whether he has made the cut for this weekend’s Scottish Open.
The 40-year-old shot a level-par round of 70 in Gullane to leave him on the cusp of the projected cut with a score of two-under overall, with a number of players still to complete their rounds in East Lothian.
After going out in level par, the Broome Manor pro cancelled out his bogey five on 11 with a birdie two on the 12th.
The Swindon ace then looked to secure his place in the weekend’s final two rounds with a birdie on the 15th to move him to three-under overall.
However, the two-time Ryder Cup winner dropped a shot on the 17th before parring the final hole to leave him waiting to discover if he made the cut.
