DAVID Howell posted his third level-par round of the week as he finished in a tie for 30th at the British Masters today.
Swindon ace Howell recorded one birdie and one bogey alongside 16 pars to fire another 71 around Woburn and finish five-under overall.
English youngster Matthew Fitzpatrick won his first European Tour event with a two-stroke victory after a three-under final round of 68.
It was a fairly uneventful day for Broome Manor pro Howell has kicked things off with six straight birdies before a bogey six at the par-five seventh blotted his card.
He remained one over at the turn before claiming that shot back with a birdie on 13, his only one of the day.
A run of five more pars then completed a low-key day for the 40-year-old.
