TEAM Europe claimed the honours as Broome Manor hosted its own version of the Ryder Cup - the Tiger Cup.

The event, first set up three years ago by club professional Lee Hayward, saw 24 players battle it out over two days, with foursomes and fourball betterball formats on day one, followed by singles on day two.

Holders Team Europe took an 8-4 lead into the singles and, despite a strong fightback by Team USA, closed out the match to win 14-10.

Hayward said: “This truly was an amazing event for junior golf at Broome Manor. All players played with determination, pride and showed top-class sportsmanship and are a credit to their coaches, their golf club and their parents.

“As a professional golf coach I feel it’s important to hold team events within a club to really bring the players together, young and old, and that is exactly what the Tiger Cup has done.

“I am very proud of what our junior coaching programme has become and how bright the future looks for junior golf at Broome Manor.’’
