THE KIDS are alright at Broome Manor and the Swindon golf club have been paid tribute to their younger members at this week’s junior presentation evening.

More than 70 juniors and parents turned out for a jam-packed event at the Springs bar and restaurant, part of the Broome Manor complex, and Milo Hempleman, the son of European Tour caddy Jason Hempleman, was on hand to present prizes for the Milo Running Medal.

Grace Hayward picked up a hearty haul of six medals, including the Cubs workplace order of merit trophy for 2016 while Jakob Venables, who is also just eight-years-old, was honoured for reaching the IMG Academy Junior World Championships in San Diego.

Meanwhile, there was also recognition for Cillian Roberts, nine, who qualified for the US Kids World Championships in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Broome’s junior team were celebrated for winning this year’s Wiltshire Junior League and the Knockout Challenge Cup while four youngsters have just been selected for the county’s 2017 Junior Elite team – James White and Ben Wakeley, both 13, Harry Dearsley, 11, and Lewy Haward, 10.

Three Broome girls – Katie Walls, Sammy Walls and Olivia Bannon – have also earned spots in the Wiltshire Elite U18s squad.
