DAVID Howell was unable to follow up his course-record equalling third round at the UBS Hong Kong Open as he fell away on the final day on Sunday.
Swindon star Howell hauled himself into contention on Saturday with a stunning seven-under 63 to reach seven-under overall, matching the course record at Hong Kong Golf Club.
However, the 41-year-old could only follow it up with a two-over 72 in the fourth round to fall to five-under overall and finish in a tie for 14th place.
Broome Manor man Howell still had the consolation of more than 23,000 Euros in prize money for his efforts and can take plenty of positives from his first tournament on the 2017 European Tour.
