BROOME Manor pro David Howell carded a two over par round of 73 at the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond, following an up-and-down first 18.
Starting on the 10th, the former Ryder Cup man began well as he birdied 12 and 13, before he slumped with a double bogey at 16 and a bogey on 18.
He looked to be back on course on the front nine as he holed two birdies on the first and third, but then he dropped a combined four shots at the fifth, sixth and seventh.
But Howell finished his round on a positive note as he hit a birdie three at the ninth.
