DAVID Howell retired midway through his second round at the Maybank Malaysian Open yesterday after a terrible opening 29 holes.
Howell, who shot a seven-over-par first round of 79, continued his poor form in the second with three bogeys in his first four holes.
While the Swindon man managed to claw one stroke back with a birdie at the sixth, a double-bogey on the par four ninth put paid to Howell’s chances.
With his overall tournament score standing at 11-over-par, he retired at the 11th hole.
