GOLF: Double top for young Jordan
promising Bowood golfer Jordan Smith completed an outstanding double at Broome Manor when he added the Wiltshire Boys' Championship to the Wiltshire Colts' Matchplay title he won last summer, writes Ernie Newell.

Smith shot a splendid three under par first round of 68 and posted a second round of 73, which included a blistering birdie, par, eagle, par finish for a four-stroke victory over another 15-year-old, Broome Manor's Yoshio Takeuchi, who followed a 70 with a 75.

Wiltshire boys had mixed fortune in their annual triangular match with Hampshire and Berks, Bucks and Oxon at South Wilts.
They beat the Three Counties 8-7 but went down 91/2-51/2 to Hampshire.
Garry Slade (North Wilts) played a real captain's innings for Wiltshire with an undefeated 31/2 point performance.
Alex Pike (Cumberwell Park) was also unbeaten with two wins and two halves.
Smith makes his Daily Telegraph Channel League debut for Wiltshire tomorrow when the county begin their challenge for the title against Glamorgan over new skipper Alistair James's own Cumberwell Park course.
The 15-year-old Bowood player is the only fresh face in James's 10-strong team.
James is the first Cumberwell Park player to lead Wiltshire and, at 24, the county's youngest-ever captain.
He is one of three Cumberwell players in the side, the others being his elder brother Charlie and Matt Swales.
Marlborough provide two players in former captain Jeremy Tomlinson and teenager Jack Hiscock.
The other four members of the side are in-form Broome Manor captain Kevin Phillips, Richard Scarrott (Wrag Barn), Sam Elkins (South Wilts) and ex-skipper Mike White (West Wilts).
Miles Mackman, the England A squad player from Broome Manor, Under 21 squad player Sam Matton (Bowood) and Wrag Barn's Ben Loughrey were unavailable for selection.
