SWINDON’S Under 12 boys team was recently crown Wiltshire champions.

The youngsters went into the competition unbeaten this year and maintained that remarkable run with several comprehensive victories.

Salisbury then began to press but Swindon keeper Sean Anstey Manning dealt calmly with any threat to his goal. Swindon then pressured the Salisbury defence again, going close twice before Main doubled their lead.

In the second half Swindon continued to attack and played free flowing hockey to ease to a comfortable win, the county title and a place in the South West Finals at Millfield, which are scheduled to take place on March 30.

Coach Mark O’Dwyer said: “Special thanks to Selection Services and Genisys Group, who sponsored the playing kit and hoodies. This really does make a difference and is much appreciated.

“Finally, thanks to the parents and supporters who were simply superb.”
