SWINDON Under 14s took part in the National England Hockey Festival against some of strongest clubs in the country.
This was the first time a Swindon junior team has been represented on the national stage and shows the commitment the club and coaches have to enabling players to participate at the highest level available to them.
In the the first match, Swindon were edged out 1-0 by Sutton Coldfield.
Against Oxton and Beeston Swarm, Swindon were finding their stride and producing creative hockey with a real team spirit in two 1-1 draws.
The fourth game was one of those games where everything clicked for Swindon as a flowing display against Beeston Bees saw them to a 5-0 success.
Following an hour’s wait, Swindon were back in action for their final match of the festival against Lichfield.
Despite a quick start, Swindon found themselves a goal down, however, after the break, two goals ensured victory.
