NORTH Wilts Hockey Club will be joining more than 140 clubs across the country in a national ‘Back to Hockey’ campaign organised by England Hockey.

The national scheme is designed for men and women with a focus on fun, fitness and friendship, for beginners who have never picked up a hockey stick before, to those who have been away from the game for a while and want to polish up their rusty hockey skills.

The coached sessions will provide the participants a great opportunity to learn or refresh their skills and play with like minded people in a friendly and relaxed environment without the pressure to perform.

North Wilts will welcome all ages and abilities and are keen to show that hockey has come a long way from the days of muddy pitches and waiting around for a touch of the ball.

The club hockey sticks are available to borrow and anyone wishing to take part should wear clothes suitable for sport and trainers or astroturf shoes.

The ‘Back to Hockey’ sessions at North Wilts will run on Tuesday November 10 and 17 and again on January 19 and 26.

The sessions will start at 6.30pm, and run alongside the club’s normal training, held at Dorcan Recreation Complex.
