SWINDON bounced back from their surprise 4-4 draw with Devizes by edging past GoCrea8 League Conference North basement boys Whitchurch A 2-0.

Missing four starting XI players, Swindon nevertheless dominated from start to finish and midway through the first half, skipper Tom Goldsmith scrambled home a rebounded penalty corner after Tom Lentchner’s shot was saved.

Swindon continued to press hard but the chances went begging into the second half until skipper Goldsmith settled the nerves with his second of the game.

A late break by the Whitchurch forwards saw Swindon keeper Alan Gough called into action for the only time during the game.

Swindon A were in fine form in East Central One as they thrashed their Devizes counterparts 6-2.

The visitors scored early on, with four goals coming within 10 minutes and, as Devizes’ heads dropped, Swindon led 5-1 by half-time.

Swindon defended well after the break and put the game to bed with another goal.

Phil Scarisbrick led the scoring with four goals, with Callum Bird and Ashley Moore also on target.

Swindon B maintained their 100 per cent away winning record in East Central Two as they thrashed hosts West Wilts C 7-0.

Swindon started the match strongly and, after five minutes, Andy Fraser flicked the ball into net for the opener.

The pressure was maintained as Swindon racked up a further two goals before the interval.

With the defence sitting deep and soaking up any West Wilts pressure, Swindon eventually slowed the game down and took control again, Fraser scoring three more times to take his tally for the match to four.

Swindon B are currently lying second in the table behind unbeaten division leaders Bristol University D.
