A MEMORIAL service for Grand National-winning trainer Toby Balding will be held at Marlborough College on December 15 at 2pm.
Balding, who died on September 25 at the age of 78, was awarded an OBE by the Queen in 2011 for services to horse racing.
Among his other big-race successes were the Champion Hurdle and the Cheltenham Gold Cup. He was also founder of the National Trainers Federation.
Balding was regarded as one of the best around when it came to mentoring young jockeys, helping Tony McCoy and Adrian Maguire, among many others, on the road to stardom.
He was also the older brother of Derby-winning trainer Ian Balding.
