SWINDON jockey Wayne Hutchinson intends to be back in action early next week following a nasty fall at Southwell on Thursday.

The jump jockey described himself as "battered and bruised" after the tumble from the Alan King-trained McCabe Creek at the second-last flight in a two-mile novice hurdle.

He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham for further checks before being sent home.

"I'm just battered and bruised. I won't be riding for a couple of days, but I'll be back next week," he said.

"I got out of hospital late last night. They just kept me in for observation for a few hours and then they let me go.

"I'll just have a couple of quiet days."

Hutchinson had planned to ride at Chepstow on Saturday, where his mounts would have included L'Unique in the totepoolliveinfo.com Silver trophy Handicap Hurdle and The Pirate's Queen in the totepool Persian War Novices' Hurdle for the King stable.
