AARON Nell has outlined the ‘importance’ of this weekend’s double-header with Bracknell, revealing it is vital for Swindon to beat the teams around them if they are to climb into the top half of the EPL table.

Wildcats are currently one of the league’s form teams with eight wins out of the last 11 and are threatening to overhaul Slough in fifth place.

However, seventh-placed Bracknell are hot on the heels of the Link Centre side and skipper Nell - called up to the Great Britain squad on Wednesday - says his team must be looking to keep the Bees at arm’s length.

“I think they are the two most important games of the season so far,” said Nell, the EPL’s top goalscorer.

“We’ve just got above them in the table and we need to stay above them.

“For the foreseeable future it’s our goal to get fourth or fifth and we’re on a good little run at the minute.

“Points against the likes of Basingstoke, Manchester and Guildford are great but they are only really bonus points. The most important points are against the likes of Bracknell, Slough and even Milton Keynes.

“It’s a very important stage of the season and after the next six games we’ll know where we’re at. We’re definitely up there and we know we can beat anyone.”

Wildcats injury situation remains the same with Lee Richardson still struggling with a knee injury, while his fellow forward Jamie Hayes is also sidelined.
