7:43pm

Look out for a full report and reaction in the Adver tomorrow...

7:42pm

That's it. Well deserved for the hosts.

7:39pm

GOAL! Manchester 6 Swindon 3, 58.06

With Cats frantically trying to get one back, Manchester break and the puck is squared to Psurny, who taps into the empty net,

7:37pm

Murdy pulled.

7:36pm

Time out Phoenix. Three minutes left.

7:33pm

GOAL! Manchester 5 Swindon 3, 55.36

Psurny finds Flaten in the slot and he slams past Murdy. Game over.

7:28pm

GOAL! Manchester 4 Swindon 3, 52.18

Flaten steams in on goal and fires a wristshot over Murdy's left shoulder. Very nicely taken. Is that the winner?

7:22pm

Penalty killed.

7:19pm

Melichar off for two minutes.

7:18pm

GOAL! Manchester 3 Swindon 3, 44.57 PP

They have been comprehensively outshot, but Swindon are level. Perkkio whacks in a slapshot from a narrow angle. Great stuff.

7:16pm

Two minutes for Schnabel.

7:14pm

Penalty killed.

7:11pm

Two minutes for Fojtik.

7:11pm

Period three is underway.

6:53pm

That's the end of the second period.

6:51pm

Just under a minute left of the second period.

6:49pm

Cats have certainly grown into this game. They were nowhere in the first period but this is much better. The hosts giving away a few penalties has helped.

6:48pm

6:47pm

GOAL! Manchester 3 Swindon 2, 34.52, PP

Maybe it is game on after all. I'm not sure how, but Nell battled away to jam the puck into the net despite Jaszczyk seemingly having his body behind it.

6:43pm

Ben Wood off for interference.

6:43pm

Bit of Boris Becker-style last-ditch diving from Melichar to prevent a goal there!

6:42pm

Phoenix kill the penalty.

6:41pm

6:40pm

Tom Duggan nearly applies the sucker punch on the break. Murdy survives.

6:40pm

Cats powerplay starts now.

6:39pm

Still four on four, with a Cats powerplay imminent. Neil off for Phoenix.

6:37pm

Both Robert Schnabel and Perkkio are in the bin.

6:34pm

GOAL! Manchester 3 Swindon 1, 26.31

Unassisted goal from James Neil. Perkkio crashes against the post just moments later for the visitors and suddenly this game has come to life.

6:32pm

GOAL! Manchester 2 Swindon 1, 25.52

Out of nowhere makeshift forward Paul Swindlehurst pulls one back from Joe Baird. Game on again.

6:30pm

GOAL! Manchester 2 Swindon 0, 25.23, PP

Michal Psurny drives towards the near post and seems to melt through Shane Moore before forcing past Murdy.

6:27pm

Now it's a five on four.

6:26pm

Now Jan Melichar is off for two minutes for slashing. Temporarily a five on three.

6:23pm

Two minutes for Matias Perkkio. Stating the obvious, but the visitors are giving away far too many penalties here. Manchester have given away none, the paragons of virtue that they are.

6:22pm

Penalty killed.

6:22pm

Just to put this into perspective, shots on goal in the first period were 19 for Manchester and three for Swindon.

6:21pm

Ryan Aldridge gets two minutes.

6:19pm

Period two is go.

6:18pm

The players are back out.

5:59pm

That's the end of the first period.

5:56pm

GOAL! Manchester 1 Swindon 0, 15.28

Hand is given far too much room as he skates towards the net and his wristshot zips into the top-right corner.

5:53pm

It's starting to look like a game that badly needs a goal.

5:48pm

Pretty much all Manchester so far.

5:46pm

Penalty killed. Good interception by Jan Melichar there.

5:45pm

Joachim Flaten bangs the puck against the boards. Not far off.

5:44pm

Aaron Nell off for high-sticks.

5:43pm

Jaszczyk temporarily pulled but back out now.

5:41pm

Murdy plenty busy enough so far.

5:39pm

Phoenix blow a two-on-one and it was Liam Chong that fluffed his lines.

5:37pm

Penalty killed.

5:35pm

Phoenix powerplay. Stevie Whitfield off for two minutes.

5:32pm

And we're away.

5:32pm

In goal for Cats tonight is Tom Murdy. Jaszscyk in goal for the Phoenix.

5:29pm

Now the intros.

5:28pm

I make it that Swindon have 14 players tonight, and not all of those are fit!

5:24pm

Here come the players.

5:23pm

Lights off at Altrincham Ice Dome.

5:23pm

Don't forget to get your point across in the comments section below or using #swindinwildcats on Twitter. No ice hockey subject too big or small.

5:22pm

It's been confirmed that Fojtik is icing for Swindon tonight.

5:17pm

Zamboni is out.

5:14pm

A young gent was out on the ice wearing Fone's shirt, but I'm reliably informed it's Andrew Jaszscyk, who played against Slough yesterday evening.

5:09pm

The players have just about completed their warm-ups and have been asked to clear the ice.

5:08pm

Manchester are of course without number one goalie Steve Fone but Tony Hand ices after missing the 6-2 win at Slough last night.

5:03pm

Swindon will draw level on points with fifth-placed Slough if they win against Manchester tonight and the Jets lose at Guildford. However, Wildcats would remain in sixth place due to their inferior head to head record.

4:56pm

Also missing tonight are Loris Taylor, Floyd Taylor, Lee Richardson and Jamie Hayes. Tomas Fojtik is dressed and it appears as if he will play despite missing the 5-4 win over the Tigers last night with what I understand is an elbow problem.

4:55pm

The Wildcats injury problems worsened over yesterday when Henri Sandvik came off with a wrist injury against Telford. It's not broken but looks set to keep him out for a couple of weeks.

4:54pm

Welcome to Altrincham Ice Dome where tonigth Swindon face Manchester as they bid to assure themselves of a place in the EPL play-offs.
