REVENGE is a dish best served cold and Swindon Wildcats will be hoping to hand Peterborough Phantoms a large slice when they take to the ice this evening.

A slow start, for the second time in a week, at Planet Ice contributed to the Cats going down 4-2 on the road, failing to come back from going four goals behind.

Swindon have not had to wait long for their pay-back though as the Phantoms head to the Link Centre this evening for the reverse fixture.

Despite last Sunday’s defeat Wildcats’ head coach Ryan Aldridge said that he would not change any of the players in his side for the Phantom’ skaters.

After going two down in the first period against Sheffield Steeldogs and three down in the first against the Phantoms, a fast start from the Cats is crucial tonight.

“Absolutely we’ll be looking for revenge; it is nice to have a league game in our building as well,” said Aldridge.

“We need a massive start at home, we need to come out and deliver right from the start.

“When you look at the line-ups I would take my line-up over their line-up any day of the week so we have just got to come and work hard.

“Obviously having the home fans behind you, especially as recently our place has been full, is always a boost.

“Our competition in the last couple of games at home hasn’t been great, so you kind of drop down by the end of the game to that level, so it is nice to have a league game under our belts as well.

“They are obviously good on the power plays. They scored twice during those at the weekend, so we have to stay out of the box with those guys, that and our work rate.”

Swindon have made a good start to their season claiming scalps against last season’s champions Manchester Pheonix and Guildford Flames, but it is the games against Peterborough and Telford that Aldridge believes his side should be targeting for wins.

Swindon head to Telford tomorrow night, having only played in Shropshire just over a week ago, claiming a 4-0 win.

“Telford is going to be set for a good match. I think they are going to feel upset and we are going to want to go and do the same thing again,” added Aldridge.

“Some of the games we have won are massive wins for us there is no doubt about that.

“Going on the road there is obviously a little less pressure to perform on the road and some of the players feel a bit more comfortable.

“I think we deserved more out of Sunday night I thought we were the better team for the last two periods but obviously you have got to play for three.”
