SHANE Moore insists no one at Swindon Wildcats will be over-reacting to the end of their impressive ten-match winning streak.

Guildford inflicted a first defeat on the Cats since mid-November on Saturday night when they came from behind to claim a 3-1 victory at the Link Centre in the English Premier League.

Henri Sandvik had put the home side ahead in the first period but Ryan Aldridge’s men were unable to extend their advantage despite fashioning a number of good chances.

That ensured Guildford were always in the contest and three unanswered strikes from Marcus Kristoffersson twice and David Savage in the third period turned the game around and allowed them to travel back to Surrey with the points.

Although disappointed to see their fabulous recent record come to an end, D-man Moore does not think the Cats will be ripping up their playbook.

“There definitely won’t be [an overblown reaction],” said Moore.

“It’s a tough one to bite on as we did play well and deserved to win.

“We played really well in the ten games before too and sometimes we haven’t deserved to win those games but we’ve managed to get those points.

“Saturday night was just one of those nights. We can’t take too much from it, we’ll just get back to work.”

Although Moore was proud of his team’s performance against Guildford he revealed that the mood in the home dressing room was quite low after the final buzzer.

However, Cats responded with a comfortable victory at Chelmsford in the cup on Sunday and Moore does not think it will take them too long to bounce back from their disappointment 24 hours earlier.

“We were a bit disappointed but I thought the boys played well,” said Moore.

“We outshot them quite heavily so I don’t think we can get too upset about it. We played well but just didn’t get the bounces.

“The streak had to end sometime and unfortunately it was on Saturday night. I thought we played well so the boys aren’t too down.”
