POLISH forward Tomasz Malasinski described last weekend’s game against Telford Tigers as a ‘bad day for everyone’.

The 28-year-old was the victim of what head Coach Ryan Aldridge described as an ‘assault’ from Jason Silverthorn on Sunday evening.

The Tigers’ centre took issue with an earlier check from the Pole and in the third period he charged from the bench to attack Malasinski, breaking his stick on the Pole before throwing several punches with the referees struggling to pull the pair away.

“I think my body-check was clean and I don’t know why Silverthorn reacted how he did,” said Malasinski .

“I didn’t see because I was playing with my back to him and I think Silverthorn was the sixth player on the ice and I didn’t see it. He first jumped on me and I couldn’t protect myself.

“It was a very bad game and the first period, when we conceded four goals, was very bad.”

Malasinski has been in fine form for Swindon in recent weeks and he is looking to keep that run going into a busy period for the Wildcats.

Having scored a contender for goal of the season against Sheffield Steeldogs last weekend the forward is looking for more goals to fire Swindon to some silverware come the end of the camapagn.

“I was lucky,” said Malasinski when reflecting on last Saturday’s goal.

“The situation between the two d-men is hard for them to defend and it is an alright goal.

“We want to win every game whether that is against Bracknell, Manchester or Telford.

“Manchester is a very hard game they are a good team with good imports but we go in and try and win two points as normal.

“The cup is a different game because it is a semi-final and it is an important game but for me every game is important and I want to win.”
