SWINDON Wildcats have announced the appointment of Sam Bullas as their Community Development Officer to deliver their Wildcats in the Community programme.

Forward Bullas has a foundation degree in sports coaching and a first class BSc Degree in Sport Studies and is in the process of completing a Master Degree in Sports Coaching Science.

The Nottingham and Swindon player also has work experience in a wide array of schools both primary and secondary, coached abroad in Canada at Teen Ranch Summers camps over three summers and also coached at numerous Okanagan Ice Hockey Camps in the last four years.

Wildcats general manager Steve Nell said "It is great to have Sam on board with the community programme. We are lucky we had someone of Sam's calibre already within the organisation and I was very happy to be able to offer him the position.

"It is an important time for the programme as it moves to charity status and Sam will be perfectly suited to help us do that and continue to grow our involvement in the community."

Bullas said: "I was really pleased to be offered the job. As a Wildcats player I already know how important the Community programme is. It introduces future Wildcats to the game through Kids Go Free games and Learn to Play sessions as well as promoting sport and healthy lifestyles in general. There is a lot to get up to speed with and I can't wait to get started."
