I AM really happy to be back and it feels a bit fresher because of all of the new faces.

I think the last few years have all blended into one but this feels like something new.

There has been an improvement, not only in depth, but single players. There is a lot of skill that has come in.

The defence, from the couple of players we have lost; we have replaced them with experience and solid players, so it is all round an improvement.

Tactically, we might see a change in how we defend.

Last year, it definitely felt like we played with a 'we’ll score one more than you' mentality.

This year, I would imagine we will be a lot more tactical in defence and a lot more solid, especially on road games.

We will still play with that speed and attacking hockey at home but when we are on the road, we will be looking to stay tight and grind out results because that is how you push up the league.

There are the sort of 30-year-old group and then there is the big gap down to me and Bully in the mid-twenties.

Hopefully, I provide a bit more experience of the league. I should be now looking to contribute more. Not in points - that will never happen – but in the style of play.

I want to put in some big penalty kill minutes and the only thing I can control is that I will be working my hardest all the time. That rubs off on other guys and if we can work hard ,we are going to do well.
