WITH Movember in full flow and promises of Matt Selby wrestling with bears if the Wildcats reach their £500 target, I think it is the ideal time to bring men’s health into the spotlight.

As charity things go it is just a bit of fun as well as raising a bit of money for a good cause and raising awareness.

Men’s health issues are something that are not talked about as much as maybe they should be. I think there is a bit of a bravado thing where it is almost seen as a weakness if you admit to something or speak out about it whether it is a physical issue or a mental health issue.

The main thing about it is that we raise awareness and show that if you have a problem then you should be comfortable seeking help and speaking about it.

Hopefully something like Movember helps to bridge that gap and make it something talked about with freedom.

We have that platform as players where people will see us twice over the weekend that helps to raise the profile.

The fans can also see how much they have grown or, in the case of Jordan Hedley, how little they have developed each week.

It does become something of a talking point in the dressing room with jokes made about the people who are struggling a bit and everyone gets to laugh at how stupid we look as well.

Harding’s (Adam Harding) moustache is pretty impressive. He has a horseshoe thing going on and Carlo’s (Finucci) is pretty good as is Bully’s (Sam Bullas).

If fans can dip into their pockets for a great cause then everyone would be very grateful. You can donate by clicking here.
