SWINDON Junior Ice Hockey will be well represented in an international tournament to be held in Estonia later this week.

Six players with Swindon connections will represent South West Under 15s at the event in Talinn, which gets under way on Friday.

Andre Norris, who plays for Basingstoke but lives in Swindon and played for Swindon until last season, is among those selected.

Ethan Mayoh, who plays for Okanagan Hockey School, and Swindon Ice Hockey Academy’s Sam Talbot, Reed Sayers, Ethan Easton, Jake Williams and Brett Massey will also make the trip.

Each ice hockey club in the South West area nominated players for Under 15 trials.

The coaches then whittled the numbers down to a final 15, plus two netminders, for the trip.

The group’s first game is on Friday evening, with the South West squad returning to this country next Monday (April 18) to prepare for Conference weekend in Sheffield, from April 29-May 2, where the region will play against all other areas of the UK in the Under 11, 13, 15 and 17 age groups.
