IT WAS strange when I played for Telford last season because Swindon were always a pain in the backside for us.

We couldn’t figure out why we weren’t having the same success against Swindon as we were against other clubs in the league.

They played really well against us, not only home but away as well, so I was interested to come here and find out what the secret was behind it.

Hopefully we can continue to apply that against Telford. It will be interesting when we face them next month, not only from a personal point of view, but to see if we can continue having the same sort of success.

The summer has been quite a big one for me. I try to do everything during the summer to get myself ready for the season.

It is your responsibility to look after yourself, so I do look after myself in the gym and you skate when you get the chance.

I am happy with the shape I am in. I have done everything I need to do in the summer and so have the club, so let’s see where that takes us.

I am also now starting to move into real life fully, so I am looking at getting that insurance behind me away from the rink.

I also have a new born baby so it is quite full on.

My baby is four months old. I have an eight-year-old step-son but this is the first of my own.

It has been quite a rollercoaster. It is hard work but it rewards you in the end and it is a love that I have never felt before.

It was not a one-dimensional decision to come to Swindon, there were about five or six different major things that came into play and made this move possible.

A big part of it was the club, who rate me, and thought I could deliver for them, and I am grateful for that.
